Soapstone Valley, Part 1

While this looks like Maine, this is Soapstone Valley Park in Washington, D.C. This stream is a tributary of Rock Creek, which flows through the city and into the Potomac River. Rock Creek Park became the third Federally managed park in America in 1890 and covers 1,754 acres in D.C. Click on the image for a larger view.

Troops in the Streets

We walked downtown today to see what we could of the preparation of the inauguration for Joe Biden. These US army troops were a few of the military and law enforcement personnel deployed. They were in a rush. As the troops passed, the ones at the rear shouted for those in front to slow down. This was taken about a block away from the White House. Click on the image for a larger view.

Arrival

We arrived at our new home in Washington, D.C., at the beginning of the year. You might be able to imagine what we have been doing since then. Fortunately, our home no longer looks like the last scene from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc. We are excited to be in a new place and are looking forward to sharing our stories.
